Each option has it sown cost so the one you chose will depend on your budget. But whatever option you choose must meet some basic criteria. The fence should not cut an animal and should not trap the animal in any way. Horses would like to go to the fence and try to get away. If they do, the fence should be able to hold them back without getting them trapped. The gates must open and close easily. They should not squeeze the animal or scratch any par of the body. After the animal leaves the gateway, the door should swing back into closing position gently and not whack the horse on its way out.

Provision of good shelter comes next. Horses need a good sleeping and resting place to be healthy. For you to get top performance from tem, they will have to feel comfortable. By standard, the stable should be twice wider than high. The walls of the stable should be lined so that the horses do not hurt themselves whilst leaning or lying against it. The location of the property will determine the considerations. If you have the property in the arid regions, then the shelter should be cool most of the time so the houses feel comfortable. If snowing regions, then you should consider a heating-enabled shelter for them.

The rooms in which they are fed should be clean and dry. It should also be spacious enough to store the hay that the animals will need.

You need lots of water for a horse property. The water will serve two main purposes – one it will be used to feed the horses and at the same time used to clean the stables and barn. You would want to locate near a river, stream or creek. Alternatively you want to have a reliable well I the ranch.

Horses need to be well fed. You will have to inspect the pasture to see if it is of good quality. The ground should not be overgrazed. The grass should look green and not brown. You should also consider how the pasture will be watered for fresh growth. Do you have tram nearby or it can be properly irrigated?
